Demand Planner
Location: Scotts Valley, CA (100% Remote)
Schedule: Full-Time | Monday-Friday | 1st Shift
Compensation: $45-$55/hour
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Demand Planner to support forecasting, inventory planning, and supply chain decision-making for a portfolio of hardware products. This role will be responsible for developing sales forecasts, analyzing demand trends, improving planning processes, and helping drive key business decisions that impact production, inventory, and revenue performance.
This is a fully remote position reporting to a Scotts Valley, California-based organization.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Forecasting
- Manage and support a rolling 12-month sales forecasting process
- Present forecast results and recommendations to cross-functional leadership teams
- Analyze historical demand, sales performance, pricing, promotions, inventory levels, and stock-outs
- Develop forecasting metrics, reporting, projections, and accuracy measurements
- Monitor channel inventory and market demand to improve forecast reliability
- Evaluate regional and territory demand to support sales planning and revenue allocation
Demand Planning
- Collect and analyze internal and external data impacting customer demand
- Review historical sales trends and identify market opportunities and risks
- Evaluate sales promotions and model future programs to maximize profitability
- Partner with supply planning teams to develop inventory and safety stock strategies
- Lead weekly backlog review meetings with supply chain stakeholders
- Continuously improve forecasting methods, planning processes, and data accuracy
Project Management
- Assess current forecasting and demand planning processes and identify improvement opportunities
- Develop and track key performance metrics
- Assist in evaluating and selecting demand planning software solutions
- Partner with business systems teams to assess vendors and coordinate software demonstrations
- Present recommendations and business cases to leadership
- Serve as project lead during planning system implementation
- Support ongoing system maintenance, testing, training, and process optimization
Qualifications
- Proven experience driving sales forecasting accuracy, reporting, analysis, and business planning initiatives
- Strong background working with large data sets and cross-functional teams
- Advanced Excel skills and experience using forecasting and planning tools
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to present insights and recommendations to leadership teams
- Experience supporting continuous improvement initiatives
- Strategic mindset with the ability to balance business goals and operational requirements
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with statistical analysis, trend forecasting, regression modeling, scenario planning, and risk analysis
- Knowledge of inventory management and supply chain planning principles
- Experience implementing or supporting demand planning software solutions
- Music industry consumer product experience
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Data Analytics, or related field, or equivalent experience
- 3+ years of demand planning or sales forecasting experience within a consumer products OEM environment
- Experience with NetSuite MRP, Adaptive Insights (Workday), or similar business intelligence platforms
- Experience with Logility, Anaplan, Demantra, or comparable forecasting software strongly preferred
